my name is Maggie Webster and I would just like to take a minute to tell
you a little about myself. One thing I can tell you is that working with
people has presented the greatest challenge and the biggest reward all
of my life. After graduating from college with a degree in social work,
I was out to change the world. After six years of hitting brick walls,
while attempting to "better" other peoples' lives, I decided to look
Upon moving to Key West, I started a new career as a natural foods cook. I
was 'touching' people through their stomachs in the healthiest way I knew
how. I spent the next twelve years behind many different stoves learning
and creating many dishes like Tofu Turkey and Italian Tofu Balls.
After a while my body began to say enough of being on your feet in hot
kitchens, and I began looking into a career in massage therapy. In 1989,
within a few months of contemplation, I was living in Miami and going to
the Educating Hands School of Massage. That six months of training was one
of intense learning and a lot of fun.
After graduating from massage school and then passing the Florida
State Board exam, I found myself working in the Beach Club Spa at the
Cloister in Sea Island, Georgia. It was a nice place to work and in a
beautiful southern atmosphere. There I learned a variety of body treatments; salt scrubs, seaweed wraps, and honey almond washes. Three and a
half years later it was time for me to go back home to Key West. I began
working at the Caribbean Spa at the Pier House Resort and opened my own
Therapeutic Massage business.
As I have grown in the business so has my love for massage. My work
has leaned toward deep tissue and neuromuscular modalities. I am trained
in the following modalities - Deep tissue, Swedish, Reflexology, Hot
Stones, Thai Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Esalen and familiar with
shratsu and craniosacrial therapy and reflexology. I will use all of
these modalities to tailor your massage to fit your particular needs.
1997 Tim Albrecht became my partner in the massage business bringing
wonderful skills in guided imagery and increased sensitivity to The
Body-Mind Connection. Tim has now retired, but his passion for healing remains a guiding force.

Maggie and her partner, Tim, have traveled to Northern Thailand
and the area of Peru known as Amazonia to study with traditional healers
and explore the use of their sacred plant medicines.
They have volunteered their work at the Takiwasi
treatment center in Tarapoto, Peru.
What Makes Us Different?
The Body-Mind Connection is unique in that we, as therapists, form a
sacred partnership with the client, gently guiding the spirit and
freeing the tissues as the music takes them into the void, the
mystery, the discovery of their own personal truth. Clients have
reported significant reduction in pain as well as the ability to
work through serious life traumas while gaining clarity and insight.
We consider our approach to be complementary, rather than
alternative, as our clients gain skills which allow them to more
fully utilize traditional treatments.
It is in the "gestalt," the dynamic interaction of the pieces,
that The Body-Mind Connection finds its power. The gift of the
therapist, the strengths and illnesses of the client, the
visualization and massage are all brought together by music, the
critical element in this experience. For deep in the limbic
system, music and the emotions are joined to heighten the
receptivity of both body and psyche to this work.
music that creates the structure, provides the path, and opens us
to the changes we seek. It is the continuous thread that weaves
the tapestry together.
